PRODUCT CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Please take note of the care instructions below to ensure the longevity of your high-end Arlo & Co products.

We suggest placing your Arlo & Co items out of reach of children to ensure the best care for them. Many items are delicate and must be handled carefully.

PHOTO PRODUCTS ...

When selecting a photo for your product, please keep in mind that image choices are final and can't be altered or changed once the order has been placed.  Dark photos with shadows are not recommended.  We do not lighten, edit or alter your image in any way. If you're not sure, please get in touch with us prior to ordering and we can check over your file for you. (Lighter images may appear very slightly darker on the finished piece, when comparing to a backlit photo from a computer screen).

LEATHER CARE INFO

Arlo & Co leather accessories are made using full grain, vegetable-tanned leather. No pigments are used to hide the leather defects and in some cases, some marks will be visible on the leathers as a result of the natural process. This is normal, and over time the leather will develop an organic patina that increases with age as it shapes itself to your life.

It's important to avoid allowing the leather to come into contact with water, moisture, oils, perfumes, or cosmetics as this can significantly diminish the look of your leather. Also keep away from children.

To slow the natural effects of your leather's wear and ageing, and to keep it supple and unscuffed, we highly recommend the use of leather protectant or balm.

BAMBOO CARE INFO

Arlo & Co bamboo products are made using eco-friendly bamboo. Being a natural material, bamboo grain is subject to minor variances from piece to piece, and any variation that may exist in either colour or grain is normal. These natural variations contribute to the beauty of your products - each piece as unique as the people your gifts are made for. It's important to avoid allowing the bamboo to come into contact with water, moisture, oils, perfumes, or cosmetics as this can significantly damage your bamboo product. Also keep away from children.

To slow the natural effects of your bamboo product ageing, we also highly recommend placing the product away from direct sunlight. Please note it is likely your bamboo may darken over time due to exposure to light - this is normal and to be expected.

A note on mould: Please note that our bamboo products are unsealed. The actual printing itself is water-resistant, due to being printed with UV cured inks (meaning, the printing won’t come off or damage when in contact with water) - but we don't ever coat our timber or bamboo products, preferring the raw and natural finished look. The bamboo generally holds up really well in all manner environments, and the UV curing means the inks are steadfast (and won't rub off). However, as natural bamboo is porous by nature, if there is a moisture issue or source in the environment - that may cause mould to develop in your home - this may impact your natural bamboo pieces in some extreme circumstances.

ACRYLIC CARE INFO

Arlo & Co acrylic products are made using quality acrylic perspex (including mirror). The acrylic mirror is beautiful but also fragile. Please handle the acrylic products with care. Before putting the acrylic mirror on your chosen surface, please undo all twist ties that fasten your mirror to the backing board. Leaving even one twist tie connected could cause your mirror to snap when being lifted off the backing board. When holding your acrylic piece, please hold by the thickest parts of the product.

Please take care not to bend or drop the acrylic mirror - it is very fragile by design. It is your responsibility to ensure the piece is securely fastened to the surface, as if it falls, it will possibly break. Items are not to be handled by children. Do not hang items above cots or beds, or within a child's reach.

CANVAS CARE INFO

Arlo & Co canvas products are made using coated canvas and printed with high quality inks. The products are for indoor use only as the canvas isn't waterproof and can be seriously damaged by exposure to high humidity and moisture, which causes the material to mold and mildew. If you ever need to clean your canvas product, simply dust the canvas with a soft, lint-free, dry cloth or feather duster. Never immerse the canvas in water or use cleaning products as these can damage the material. We recommend keeping the product away from children and also placing it away from direct sunlight (soft, artificial light is best).

WALL DECAL CARE INFO

Arlo & Co wall decal products are made using fine weave fabric, not vinyl, and are printed with high quality inks. The products are for indoor use only as the weave fabric isn't waterproof and can be seriously damaged by exposure to high humidity and moisture. We recommend keeping the product away from children and also placing it away from direct sunlight. To remove the decals from the wall, carefully lift a corner and whilst holding the sticker back on itself, slowly peel off. Our wall decals won’t damage your wall, but it’s important to be careful when removing in case the wall has been poorly prepared before painting.

BIRCH PLYWOOD CARE INFO

Arlo & Co wood prints are made using Birch Plywood and printed with UV cured inks - resulting in a high quality image that's scratch and water resistant. The Birch Plywood timber develops character over time and ages beautifully if treated with the right care. The wood prints need minimal cleaning - the only maintenance required is dusting. Use a dry dusting cloth, or feather duster, to remove dust and dirt. Never immerse the wood print in water or use cleaning products as these can damage the timber. It's also important to avoid allowing the timber to come into contact with moisture, oils, perfumes, or cosmetics as this can significantly diminish the look of your wood print. Also keep away from children.

STONE CARE INFO

Arlo & Co stone prints are made using natural stone and printed with UV cured inks - resulting in a high quality image that's scratch and water resistant. If you ever need to clean your stone prints, simply dust the canvas with a soft, lint-free, dry cloth or feather duster (never immerse the stone in water).  It's important to avoid allowing the stone to come into contact with moisture, oils, perfumes, or cosmetics as this can significantly diminish the look of your stone print. Also keep away from children.

LEATHER METALLIC EMBOSSING CARE INFO

To care for your leather product:

  • Keep the product dry, and avoid damp or wet surfaces.
  • Know that wear and tear can occur with use - your leather may soften, and your embossing may wear over time.
  • Do not use any chemical cleaners to care for the product.
  • Gently use the product, as colour transfer can occur.
  • Treat the product with care and limit the exposure to direct heat and sunlight.

To clean your leather product:

  • Use a damp cloth in an inconspicuous area of your product first to ensure that it does not react poorly. Once you have confirmed it to be safe, you can use this to carefully clean your product.

If your personalisation is fading with wear and tear, within one year of purchase, please feel free to send your piece back to us at Arlo & Co, 1 Belmike Close, Chirnside Park VIC 3116 - to be serviced and re-embossed free of charge.

Please include a note with your return address so we can post it back out to you within a few days.

JEWELLERY CARE INFO

Our jewellery is made from solid 925 sterling silver.

All sterling silver will naturally oxidise slightly and tarnish over time so to care for your piece, simply polish it with a silver polishing cloth, or dip it in a gentle silver cleaning solution.

(Tarnishing is subject to change due to the acidity of the wearers skin, and exposure to products such as perfumes, moisturisers, tans or cleaning products. Tarnishing is not a manufacturing fault but a natural process of sterling silver).

To help your keep your silver looking it's best, avoid contact with liquids and moisture. This applies to all metals, however particularly your silver pieces which can tarnish when exposed to air or moisture.

It’s best to take jewellery off when cooking, showering, cleaning or swimming. Acidic foods, chemicals, perfumes and some elements in water can cause your jewellery to tarnish faster. When you’re not wearing your jewellery, storing your beauties in an airtight bag or container will avoid exposure to those elements and keep it looking it's best.

Regularly clean your jewellery with a soft, non-abrasive jewellery cloth. Gently polish your treasures by rubbing each piece, following the grain of the metal. Try to avoid using circular motions. Patience and a soft touch is the way to love your piece best. Please avoid polishing plated pieces too frequently, as this may cause wear from frequent friction.

Store your pieces separately. Make sure that when your pieces are stored, they aren’t making direct contact with other metals or anything that could scratch or rub at any time. This will just mean that they’re kept scratch free and prevent your treasures from becoming dull.

Gold plating:
All of our jewellery is made from sterling silver and many of our products can be plated with 14ct yellow gold, or rose gold, on top of the sterling silver base. Please be advised that all gold plating is a finish that can wear away over time. It can be affected by elements such as exposure to water, heat, chlorine and chemicals found in body lotions/ cosmetics/ perfumes as well as different skin types. If the plating on your product wears away within the first three months of purchasing we are happy to re-plate the item free of charge. However beyond the first three months of purchasing there is a $40 re-plating charge should you wish you have us do this for you.
